Last week I went to the cinemas to see the Sonic movie, created by Sega and Paramount Pictures. It is about a blue alien hedgehog named Sonic, who escaped from his home-planet and came to Earth.
In the start of the movie, we get introduced to the main character,Sonic, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, who is living on Earth for years, but no one has noticed him. One day though, he ran too fast and created an EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse), blacked out the whole city of Green Hills. The American Government tracks the heart of the EMP and finds Sonic. They send after him one of their masterminds, Dr. Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey. Sonic wants to escape from Earth, but he loses his rings, which let him travel through worlds and planets. So, with a help of a police officer, who goes by the name of Tom, but Sonic calls him Doughnut Lord, because he talks to doughnuts, they go to San Francisco, where he left his rings.
I loved this movie. It was a lot of fun, even though it had some cringy moments. My favourite thing about the movie were the references to famous actors, other movies, the Sonic video-games and even YouTube videos, like the Game Theorists one where they analyze the damage that Sonic causes to his legs when he runs at maximum speed.
I believe this movie is the best video-game movie. I recommend it to everyone that likes Sonic and live action movies.
