Lucky Luke

Lucky Luke is a funny comics book series made by a Belgian cartoonist, Morris in 1946. Various writers had writen the script, starting in 1955 with the French writer René Goscinny. When Morris died in 2001, the French artist Achdé has continued the series.

Lucky Luke lives in the American Old west with his horse Jolly Jumper and a dog named Rantanplan. Lucky Luke is a famous cowboy known as the “man who shoots faster than his shadow”. In his stories, he chases down bandits, the most famous of whom are The Dalton Brothers. Joe is the most small, but oldest of the brothers, and the “brain” of the crew. Jack is also very clever like Joe. William isn’t stupid but also he isn’t clever either. Averell is the tallest, youngest and most stupid of the Daltons.

Lucky Luke is one of the best selling comics book series in Europe and has been translated into 23 languages, including many European languages, some Asian and African. 68 albums have appeared in the series as of 2014, since first published by Dupuis. The series has been adapted to various other media, such as animated films and television series, live-action films, video games, toys, and board games.

Lucky Luke is one of my most favourite comic books that I have ever read. And I have over 40 comics! Write in the comments section if you want me to write about other comic series.
